Juan Muniz III Hit and Killed in by Car on North Coast Highway in Oceanside


Oceanside, California (January 30, 2020) – 22-year-old Juan Muniz III has been identified as the pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Sunday morning in Oceanside.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident was reported at around 1:10 a.m. January 26, on North Coast Highway near Sportfisher Drive.

Muniz was attempting to cross the highway when a northbound car struck him.

Muniz was seriously injured in the accident and was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The car driver, 31-year-old William Vaden, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.

The accident remains under investigation.
