California (January 26, 2020) – One person
was seriously injured in a collision involving two trucks in Dos Palos, Merced
County, on Friday morning.
The accident was reported at about 8 a.m. January 24, near Highway 152 and Flanagan Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 48-year-old John Delgado had been driving a 2003 Kenworth truck southbound on Flanagan Road when he collided with an eastbound 2019 Freightliner big rig, driven by 61-year-old Ivan Phillips of Oakland.
Fire department crew who responded to the incident
had to extricate Philips from the vehicle before transporting him to a hospital
in Modesto with major injuries.
Delgado is reported to have sustained minor
injuries in the accident.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
