3 Injured in Scripps Ranch Car Accident on Pomerado Road


San Diego, California (January 27, 2020) – At least three people were injured in a collision caused by a suspected DUI driver in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego on Sunday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 10:12 a.m. on the 10600 block Pomerado Road.

The authorities said a 26-year-old man was driving a Smart car when he crossed into the center divider into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a Land Rover driven by a 68-year-old woman.

The impact of the collision caused the Land Rover to spin and collide with a Honda HRV driven by a 27-year-old woman.

As per the CHP report, the driver of the Land Rover sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The other two drivers and their passengers were injured in the accident and were hospitalized in unknown conditions.

The driver of the Smart car was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
