Rapper YG Arrested Friday at Chatsworth Home for Robbery

Rapper YG Arrested, Booked in Men’s Central Jail for Robbery

Authorities said Rapper YG was on Friday morning arrested for robbery. The rapper, whose real name is Keenon Jackson, was booked into the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jackson at a home on Zaltana Street in Chatsworth.

Deputies said the arrest is “in the furtherance of an ongoing criminal investigation” but did not give further details.

Sherriff’s deputies had searched the rapper’s home in July 2019 after his car was involved in a July chase that involved a shootout between deputies and a gunman. The incident left a bystander dead. During that search, Jackson was not home and was never arrested.

The rapper alleged that during the shootout, he was recording all day in Hollywood and only came to know about the incident after it had happened.

It was not clear if Friday’s arrest was related to that incident.

Jackson was being held on a $250,000 bail.
