Six people were killed and others wounded after a gunman opened fire in the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg in southwest Germany on Friday.
The police said the suspect, a man in his mid-30s, shot the victims at a residential street in the town of Rot. The town has a population of about 5,000.
As per the statement, the suspect had been arrested and the police were yet to establish if the suspect had a personal relationship with the suspects.
There was no indication of any further suspects.
Several police officers were deployed to the area after the shooting.
