Palmdale, California (January 24, 2020) – A man has been arrested after fatally striking a woman who was walking her dog on Pearblossom Highway in Littlerock, Los Angeles, on Thursday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was walking her dog in the 7600 block of Pearblossom Highway at about 8 p.m. when she was hit by a westbound car driven by 62-year-old Alfredo Rodriguez.
Rodriquez reportedly continued driving and caused a multi-vehicle collision in Palmdale.
Seven people were injured in the second collision. Two people were hospitalized with major injuries while Rodriguez and three other people were transported for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Alfredo Rodriguez, a resident of Palmdale was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Additional charges are likely to be preferred against him.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
