Newhall, California (January 23, 2020) – One person died after crashing to the rear of a big rig on Highway 14 in Newhall on Thursday morning.

The fatal crash happened at about 1:04 a.m. on Highway 14 near Sierra Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 19-year-old Santa Ana resident was driving a Honda sedan when he crashed into a parked big rig for unknown reasons.

The unidentified teenager was killed in the collision.

The roadway was closed for almost four hours to facilitate examination and clearing of the scene

No other information was provided.

The CHP-Newhall area office is investigating the accident.
