was injured in a suspected DUI car accident that occurred on Sunday morning in
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident
happened in the area of 9th Avenue and Lacey Boulevard at about 7:00 a.m.
A 26-year-old man was driving a car eastbound on Lacey Boulevard when a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Sonia Mena ran a stop sign and crashed into his car.
The male driver sustained unspecified injuries in the crash and
was attended to by the EMS medics before he was transported to Adventist
Medical Center for further treatment.
Hanford police said Meno had symptoms of being intoxicated, and
a preliminary alcohol screening test was performed on her.
It was established that her levels were almost twice times the
Mena was immediately arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and
causing injury and was booked into the Kings County Jail.
The name and current condition of the patient are unknown.
The accident remains under investigation.
