Rancho Cordova, California (January 21, 2020) – The authorities have disclosed the identities of an elderly woman who was killed and her two family members who were injured after a car driven by 45-year-old Gary Circle crashed into their home in Rancho Cordova on Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at a home near the intersection of Georgetown Drive and Coloma Road at about 4:30 p.m. January 19.
The Rancho Cordova Police Department said Gary Circle was driving a car when he lost control and crashed into the living room, hitting 81-year-old Janice Williams, her son and his wife.
Janice Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
Daniel Williams and her wife Lorrie Williams were trapped underneath the car and had to be extricated by the firefighters.
Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said Daniel and Lorrie were injured in the accident and were taken to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
Circle was arrested and faces multiple charges, including vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
