Corona, California (January 21, 2020) – Three teenagers who were killed in a suspected hit-and-run car accident that left three other people injured in Temescal Valley on Sunday night have been identified.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Temescal Canyon Road and Trilogy Parkway at about 10:28 p.m. January 19.
Riverside County Fire Department said the teenagers were riding in a Toyota Prius driven by Sergio Campusano when they were hit by a car that fled the scene after the accident.
One teenager was pronounced dead at the scene while two others died while undergoing treatment.
The three were identified as Jacob Ivascu, Daniel Hawkins and Drake Ruiz, all16 years old.
Campusano and two other teenagers identified as Joshua Ivascu and Joshua Hawkins were injured in the accident.
The suspect identified as 42-year-old Anurag Chandra fled the scene in his white Infiniti but was later located on Mojeska Summit Road.
He was booked on suspicion murder and attempted charges.
The authorities closed Temescal Canyon Road between Squaw Mountain Road and Trilogy Parkway to facilitate an investigation.
