San Mateo, California (January 21, 2020) – A woman who was injured in a car crash that killed Ivania Torres on Sunday in San Mateo has been identified as 27-year-old Joanna Ochoa of Concord.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 101 near 3rd Avenue at about 1:49 p.m. January 19.
50-year-old Ivania Torres was in a Toyota Yaris that was rear-ended by a Dodge Charger for unknown reasons.
Torres, a resident of Sacramento, reportedly exited her car after the initial collision and was hit by a passing Toyota Camry driven by Ramon Hernandez, 32, of Redwood City.
Ivania Torres was killed in the collision.
Joanna Ochoa who was in the Camry and an occupant of the Yaris were injured in the accident and were taken to Stanford Hospital for treatment.
Ramon Hernandez and the driver of the Dodge were arrested on suspicion of DUI.
