Stratford, California (January 20, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a head-on
collision that occurred in Stratford, Kings County, on Monday morning, leaving
one person dead.
The fatal car crash was reported at around
2:19 p.m. on Highway 41 just south of 22nd Avenue.
As per a CHP report, a big rig truck and a
black BMW SUV collided head-on for unknown reasons. A white SUV then rear-ended
the BMW just after the initial crash.
The impact of the crash caused the BMW to
catch fire while the truck was damaged and partially submerged in a ditch 60
feet away from the roadway.
Paramedics responded to the scene and
confirmed at least one person dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
