(January 20, 2020) – A pedestrian who died after being struck by a
suspected DUI driver in Antelope on Sunday morning has been identified as 65-year-old
George James Xedes, of North Highlands.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Walerga Road and Elverta Road at about 12:35 a.m. January 19.
George James Xedes was walking in the area and was hit by a
southbound 1999 Toyota Corolla driven by 25-year-old Andrew Jogesh Lal.
Mr. Xedes was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Jogesh Lal remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with the authorities. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
