Concord, California (January
17, 2020) – A bicyclist died after being hit by a car in Concord, Riverside
County, on Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened
at about 6:21 a.m. on Port Chicago Highway near Highway 4 and Panoramic Drive.
A 54-year-old woman was riding a bicycle and was hit by a car that was traveling northbound on Port Chicago Highway.
The woman was killed in the accident
However, the identity of the woman was withheld pending
notification of next of kin.
The motorist, a 68-year-old Vallejo man, stayed at the scene
after the accident and cooperated with the authorities.
The authorities closed Port Chicago Highway, north of Panoramic
Drive, as the scene was examined.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the bicycle accident is ongoing.
