Encino, California (January 17, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a multi-vehicle collision that happened on Friday morning in Encino, Los Angeles.

The accident occurred on 101 Freeway at the Balboa Boulevard off-ramp at about 4:53 a.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a truck, a Jeep and a sedan collided on the roadway for unknown reasons.

One person was trapped inside one of the vehicles after the crash and had to be extricated by the Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.

The unidentified victim was rushed to Northridge hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The collision blocked the slow lane of the highway.

Towing trucks were requested to remove vehicles from the scene.

No other information was provided.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
