2 Students Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Crash 15th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue


Long Beach, California (January 15, 2020) – Two Long Beach Polytechnic High School students sustained serious injuries in a pedestrian accident that happened on Tuesday morning in Long Beach.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of 15th Street and Martin Luther King Junior Avenue.

Two male students, 18-year-old and 17-year-old, were crossing Martin Luther King Jr near Long Beach Polytechnic High School when a van hit them.

The police said the two students suffered serious injuries in the accident and were taken to Long Beach Memorial and Saint Mary Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene after the accident and cooperated with the authorities.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
