Sgt. Cesar Fuentes Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Mathews Road near Michael Canlis Boulevard


French Camp, California (January 13, 2020) – Sgt. Cesar Fuentes, 32, has been identified as the corrections officer who died in a motorcycle accident in San Joaquin on Sunday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 6:15 p.m. January 12, on Mathews Road near Michael Canlis Boulevard.

The officer with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle when he was struck by a pickup truck.

Fuentes was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to a local hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

The pickup truck driver was unhurt.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
