Man Hit and Killed by Car on 9th Street near Ebony Avenue in Imperial Beach


Imperial Beach, California (January 11, 2020) – A man was hit and killed by a vehicle on Friday afternoon in Imperial Beach, the authorities said.

The fatal pedestrian accident happened at about 12:09 p.m. January 10, on 9th Street near Ebony Avenue.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said a man was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle driven by an 84-year-old driver.

The man sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital.

Sadly, the unidentified man succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
