(January 10, 2020) – 43-year-old Paula Napoli of Winchester has been
identified as the driver who was killed in a head-on collision on Thursday
night, January 2, in San Diego.
The deadly collision happened at about 10:30 p.m. on Highway 76, just east of Adams Road.
The California Highway Patrol said a 23-year-old Temecula
woman was driving a Toyota Prius on the roadway when she drifted across the
double yellow lines on the highway and crashed into an oncoming Infiniti sedan
driven by Napoli.
Napoli sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby
trauma center where she was pronounced dead.
A 44-year-old Simi Valley woman who was riding in Napoli’s
car and the Prius driver were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
