Jose, California (January 9, 2020) – Two people were injured in a suspected DUI car accident that happened at an intersection in San Jose on Monday evening.
The accident happened at the intersection of Mabury Road and Timothy Drive at about 7:30 p.m. January 6.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, a 2003 Mercedes-Benz collided with a 2004 Honda Accord at the intersection for unknown reasons.
The impact of the collision sent the Mercedes off the roadway, where it crashed into a sign before it overturned.
19-year-old San Jose resident Timoteo Gomez who was driving the Mercedes and his 18-year-old female passenger, were seriously injured and were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
The adult male driver of the Honda was not injured.
Gomez was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
