Octavio Giron Hit and Killed by Car on Mount Vernon Avenue in San Bernardino


San Bernardino, California (January 9, 2020) – A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Tuesday evening in San Bernardino has been identified as 28-year-old Octavio Giron of San Bernardino.

The auto-pedestrian accident happened at about 6:00 p.m. January 7, on Mount Vernon Avenue near Belleview Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The authorities said Giron walked into traffic for unknown reasons and was hit by a Honda Civic.

Giron was killed in the accident.

The driver of the Civic, a 23-year-old San Bernardino resident, was not injured.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the fatal accident is underway.
