Jesus Echeverria Killed in Bicycle Accident at Fresno Street and Bullard Avenue in Fresno, Deshon Mayo Arrested


Fresno, California (January 8, 2020) – Jesus Echeverria has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner as the man who was killed in a bicycle accident on Wednesday morning.

The fatal car vs. bicycle accident happened at Fresno Street and Bullard Avenue at about 1 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol said the 39-year-old man was riding a bicycle in the area when he was hit by a car driven by 47-year-old Deshon Mayo.

Mayo continued driving after hitting the pedestrian but was later apprehended by the police.

Echeverria was seriously injured in the collision and was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center where he died while undergoing treatment.

Mayo was booked into the Fresno County Jail on multiple charges including manslaughter, DUI, and hit and run.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
