Bakersfield, California (January 8, 2020) – 32-year-old Evaristo Perez Nunez has been in connection with a hit-and-run car accident that left four children injured on Tuesday morning in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 3:34 a.m. January 7, on Cottonwood Road near East Pacheco Road.
Nunez was driving a vehicle
southbound on Cottonwood Road when he collided with a car for unknown
A third vehicle was involved in the
Four children and two adults in the cars sustained moderate to major injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment where one of the children died while undergoing treatment.
Nunez reportedly resisted
arrest and assaulted an officer.
He was later arrested and booked into
the Kern County jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing serious injury.
