Officer Injured in 2-Car Accident on Airport Drive at State Road in Bakersfield


Oildale, California (January 7, 2020) – A Bakersfield Police Department officer was injured in a collision involving a police cruiser in Oildale on Tuesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happed at about 11:30 a.m. on Airport Drive at State Road.

The authorities said a truck was heading westbound on State Road when it ran a red light at the intersection and collided with the police cruiser.

An officer was injured in the collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
