Woman Killed in Elk Grove Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 near Laguna Boulevard

Elk Grove, California (January 6, 2020) – A woman died after being struck by a vehicle as she exited a car after a collision in Elk Grove on Sunday night.

The fatal pedestrian accident happened at about 10:30 p.m. January 5, on Highway 99 near Laguna Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The authorities said three vehicles including a Toyota Prius were involved in a non-injury collision on the roadway.

The Prius continued traveling for nearly half a mile before it became disabled in the center divider.

The 20-year-old Sacramento woman exited the Prius and was hit by a passing Honda Civic

The unidentified woman was killed in the accident.

No other information was provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
