Adonis Jones Injured in Car Accident on Highway 99 in Bakersfield


Bakersfield, California (January 6, 2020) – A man has been arrested following a suspected hit-and-run car accident that left killed two people and left one other person injured in Bakersfield on Friday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision occurred on Highway 99.

The authorities said 58-year-old Aurelio Castaneda of Tulare was driving a truck when his vehicle was rear-ended by a 2007 Hyundai driven by an 18-year-old.

The Hyundai driver and his 24-year-old passenger were killed in the accident. Their identities were not immediately disclosed.

A third passenger in the Hyundai identified as 20-year-old Adonis Malik Jones was seriously injured in the accident and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

A third vehicle that was traveling northbound crashed into the Hyundai. The female driver of the third car suffered minor injuries.

Castaneda drove away after the accident but was later arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run.
