Baby Killed, College Student Injured in South Dallas Sunday Shooting


Police in South Dallas said a gunman opened fire through a bedroom window early Sunday morning

Killing a 1-year-old boy and injuring a college student.

The shooting happened just before 3:30 a.m.

According to Dallas Police Department, the unknown gunman opened fire with a rifle killing Rory Norman and injuring the 20-year-old college student.

Norman was rushed to the hospital by responding paramedics but, unfortunately, died of his injuries. He was to celebrate his 2nd birthday on Jan. 24. The student is recovering in stable condition. He was home for the holidays when the incident happened.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting and remains at large.

DPD Chief Renee Hall said “this location was targeted” and “the attack was intentional and deliberate”. She vowed police will find whoever pulled the trigger.
