Santa Clarita, California (January 4, 2020) – A pilot died after a single-engine plane crashed in Santa Clarita on Saturday morning.
According to a local news source, the plane crash happened
at about 10:12 a.m. near Newhall Avenue and the 14 Freeway, about five miles
north of Van Nuys Airport.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the “homebuilt
TM-1 Thunder Mustang,” crashed and caught fire near the freeway.
The pilot who was the sole occupant of the plane was killed
in the crash.
The identity of the pilot was not publicly disclosed.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
