(January 4, 2020) – A 23-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision that
left two other people injured in Temecula on Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 12:20 a.m. on State Route 79 just west of Pauba Road.
The authorities said 50-year-old Matteo Monica of San Diego
was driving a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer eastbound on Highway 79 and was trying to
pass a slower vehicle when she collided head-on with a 2004 Kia Rio driven by
59-year-old Becki Teague of Aguanga.
Geordon Pollette, who was in the front passenger seat, was
killed in the accident.
The Mitsubishi caught fire after the collision.
Pollette was killed in the accident.
Teague and Monica were seriously injured in the accident and
were taken to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment.
No other information was provided.
