5 Injured in Head-On Collision in Death Valley National Park in Inyo County


Bishop, California (January 2, 2020) – Five people were injured in a head-on collision that happened in Bishop, Inyo County, on Monday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 4:50 p.m. December 30, on Highway 190 near the Mesquite Dunes Parking Lot Entrance.

CHP report indicated that Takumi Sagawa of Hokkaido, Japan, was driving a Kia westbound on the roadway when he collided head-on with an eastbound Chevrolet Malibu driven by Xiaomin Deng of Sammamish, WA.

Five people were injured in the accident and were rushed to UMC Las Vegas for treatment.
