Yemeni Man Sentenced to Death after Riyadh Knife Attack

An Accomplice was Sentenced to 12 Years in Jail

A Saudi court has sentenced a man to death in connection with a knife attack in November in Riyadh.

The Yemeni man is reported to have stabbed members of a Spanish theatre group, on November 11, wounding three people.

The authorities blamed the attack on Al-Queda. An unnamed accomplice was sentenced to twelve years in jail.

A video of the incident showed the attacker rushing onto a stage and stabbing the artists before being overpowered by a security guard. The authorities established that the man acted on the orders of a senior leader of al-Qaeda. However, the militant group did not claim responsibility for the attack.
