Modesto, California (December 31, 2019) – A man has been arrested after crashing a stolen pickup truck into a car in Modesto, injuring a woman and a child in it.

According to Modesto Police Department, Dustin Degetaire, 21 of Jamestown, stole a Toyota Tacoma from a home and was driving recklessly when he ran a red light at the intersection of Tuolumne Road and Yosemite Avenue.

The pickup truck then collided with a Volkswagen Passat that occupied by a 24-year-old woman and three-year-old child.

The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital while the child was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Degetaire tried to flee the scene but was apprehended by the authorities. He was treated before being booked into the Stanislaus County on multiple charges.
