Laroy Kelly Injured in Bakersfield Bike Accident at Bernard and Miller Streets


Bakersfield, California (December 31, 2019) – 31-year-old Laroy Kelly has been identified as the man who was struck and injured by a vehicle on Monday evening at an intersection in northeast Bakersfield.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 6:00 p.m. December 30, at the intersection of Bernard Street and Miller Street.

Kelly was riding his motorized bike eastbound when he crashed into the rear of a pickup truck that was turning left onto Miller Street.

Kelly was ejected from the bike and was seriously injured in the crash. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The driver of the pickup truck, Jesus Rodriguez, 34, stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The CHP is investigating the accident.
