5 Killed in Airstrike Targeting Military Graduation Parade in Yemen

There Was no Immediate Claim of Responsibility

An airstrike killed at least five people at a military graduation parade in Yemen’s southern town of al-Dhalea on Sunday.

Yemen’s Security Belt forces said at least eight other people were wounded in the attack.

Although there was no immediate claim of responsibility, there are believes that that the blast was carried out by Houthi forces.

Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi group are in a fight against the Security Belt forces, a separatist front in Southern Yemen.

The Houthis have previously carried out drone attacks against civilian airports and oil infrastructure in Saudi and the UAE.

In August, a similar missile attack on a parade in Aden killed around 36 people, including a top commander.
