El Cajon, California (December 29, 2019) – A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a car on Friday night in El Cajon.

According to a local news source, the accident happened on Broadway at Ballantyne Street at about 9 p.m. December 27.

The California Highway Patrol said a car and a bicycle collided on the roadway for unknown reasons.

The bicyclist reportedly sustained major injuries in the accident.

The identity of the victim was not immediately disclosed.

The condition of the motorist was unknown.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
