Bakersfield, California (December 27, 2019) – A boy was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident in Bakersfield on Friday evening.

According to a local news source, the accident happened in the 2600 block of Columbus Street at about 7:30 p.m.

The authorities said a 16-year-old boy was walking in the area when he was hit by a car that was traveling westbound on Columbus Street.

The unidentified boy was seriously injured and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
