At least sixty people were killed in a car bomb in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, on Saturday, local media reported.
The deadly explosion is reported to have wounded more than 100 people including children, who have since been rushed to local hospitals for treatment.
The explosion that happened during the morning rush hour reportedly targeted a tax collection centre.
Several university students who had been travelling in a bus were also wounded.
The authorities expressed fears that the death toll could rise.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
