Fresno, California (December 26, 2019) – A man has been arrested on suspicion of DUI following a head-on collision that killed one person and injured four others in Tulare County.
According to a local news source, the deadly collision happened at about 6 a.m. on Avenue 384 near Monson Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol said 33-year-old Gabriel Johnson was driving a Kia westbound on Avenue 384 when he drifted into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Chevy.
A female passenger of the Chevy was killed in the accident.
Four other occupants of the Chevy were injured in the accident.
Johnson was hospitalized with serious injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI after a controlled substance was found in his car.
No other information was provided.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
