Mendocino County, California (December 27, 2019) – An elderly woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday evening, December 26, in Mendocino County, has been identified as Janice Kespohl, 80, of Lake County.
The deadly accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. on SR-20 just west of Potter Valley Road.
According to the CHP, Kespohl was driving a 2017 Hyundai westbound in the slow lane of SR- 20 when she made a U-turn directly in front of another car driven by 24-year-old Cielo Alavezos.
The two vehicles collided and came to rest in the westbound lanes.
Kespohl was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alavezos sustained unspecified injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
