Berkeley, California (December 26, 2019) – One person was killed and two others were injured in a fiery multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 80 Freeway in Berkeley, Alameda County, on Wednesday morning.

The accident happened on I-80 Freeway east of Gilman Street at about 5 a.m. December 25, according to a local news source.

The California Highway patrol said Honda Civic lost control, spun into the center divider and ended up in the fast lane.

Another Honda Civic stopped at the scene and the female driver contacted the authorities.

A short time later, a Toyota Corolla crashed into the second Honda and spun into the slow lanes where it was broadsided by a Toyota pickup truck and caught fire.

The female driver of the Corolla was killed in the accident.

The authorities said other parties involved in the accident suffered minor injuries.

No other information was provided.
