California (December 26, 2019) – 26-year-old Adrienne Smith was identified as
the cyclist who was hit and injured by a car in Bakersfield on Monday evening.
The collision occurred on Manor Street at Circle Drive at about 5:15 p.m. December 23.
The California Highway Patrol said Smith was riding a
bicycle in the southbound lanes of the roadway when she was hit by a car that
had allegedly failed to yield the right of way.
The woman was seriously injured in the accident and was
taken to Kern Medical for treatment.
Information about the motorist was not provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
