Whittier, California (December 24, 2019) – The authorities have disclosed the identity of a bicyclist who was hit and killed by a car on Monday evening in Whittier, Los Angeles.

The accident happened on Whittier Boulevard near San Gabriel River (605) Freeway at about 6:50 p.m. December 23.

The California Highway Patrol said 64-year-old Alfred Tiscareno Jr. was riding a bicycle on the roadway and was hit by a car driven by 69-year-old Rameshbhai L. Bhakta.

The cyclist was killed in the accident.

Bhakta drove away after the accident but later stopped and contacted the authorities.

No other information was provided.

The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
