City of Shasta Lake, California (December 23, 2019) – A motorcyclist died after beings struck by a train in the city of Shasta Lake on Saturday night, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to a local news source, the fatal motorcycle accident happened in the area of Shasta Dam Boulevard and La Mesa Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. December 21.
The officials said a man was riding a motorcycle in the area and was hit by an Amtrak train.
Medical personnel responded to the accident and performed life-saving measures on the rider. Sadly, the unidentified rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
None of the 232 passengers on board the train were injured.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
