Salinas, California (December 22, 2019) – An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of DUI in connection with a fatal car crash that occurred on Friday night in Salinas.
The accident happened on Davis Road at an unspecified time.
The California Highway Patrol said Jacques Clarke was driving a Mazda 6 northbound on Davis Road when he rear-ended a Toyota Camry driven by 38-year-old Rosie Figueroa.
The impact of the collision sent the Toyota off the roadway where it crashed into a tree.
Figueroa, a resident of Salinas, was killed in the collision while her unidentified female passenger was transported to Natividad with major injuries.
Clarke was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail for vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
No other information was provided.
