Bakersfield, California (December 20, 2019) – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision that took place Friday morning in South Bakersfield, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident occurred at about 6:53 a.m. on South Union Avenue at Highway 223.
A white pickup truck and a Honda sedan were involved in the crash.
Authorities said the truck was heading north in the southbound lanes of Union Avenue when it hit the Honda sedan, which was on Highway 223.
The truck driver was a man, and the Honda driver was a woman.
A passenger in the truck was hospitalized with major injuries.
Police said the crash is being investigated as a possible DUI.
