Luz Tovar Hit and Killed by Car at Shadow Mountain Drive and Portola Avenue in Palm Desert


Palm Desert, California (December 20, 2019) – A woman who was killed in a pedestrian accident in Palm Desert on Monday afternoon has been identified as 57-year-old Luz Tovar.

The fatal accident happened at the intersection of Shadow Mountain Drive and Portola Avenue at about 3:55 p.m. December 16.

Tovar was walking in the area when she was hit by a car that was turning from Shadow Mountain Drive onto Portola Avenue.

The authorities said Tovar succumbed to injuries she sustained in the accident.

The 19-year-old Palm Desert man who was driving the involved car remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
