Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Truck on Highway 101 near Garden Street in Santa Barbara


Santa Barbara, California (December 15, 2019) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Santa Barbara on Friday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 101 near Garden Street at about 1:16 a.m. December 13.

A 21-year-old male from Oak Park was walking in the area and was hit by a semi-truck.

The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver remained at the scene and contacted the authorities.

No other information was provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
