California (December 11, 2019) – A man was fatally struck by a Metro train after
falling off a station platform in the Jefferson Park area of South Los Angeles
on Wednesday morning.
According to a local news source, the accident happened in the
area of Exposition Boulevard and Farmdale Avenue at about 1 a.m.
The man in his 40s reportedly fell backward onto the track and was hit by an Expo Line train
headed to downtown Los Angeles.
The unidentified man was killed in the accident.
The incident significantly impacted morning commute but
service was restored late morning.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
