Six people died after a gunman opened fire at a hospital in the city of Ostrava in Czech before shooting himself.
The incident occurred at the waiting room of Ostrava university hospital’s trauma clinic in the country’s north-eastern city at 07:19 (06:19 GMT).
According to a statement by hospital director Jiri Havrlant, the unidentified gunman opened fire without warning hitting nine patients. Four men and two women were killed while three others were seriously wounded.
The man drove away in a silver Renault Laguna car but was located some 5km (3 miles) north of the hospital. The man is reported to have shot himself in the head.
The authorities said the attacker is believed to have been a patient at the hospital. However, the motive of the attack was not immediately established.
