Man Killed in Empire Bicycle Accident at Second Street and E Street


Empire, California (December 11, 2019) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a train in Empire, Stanislaus County, on Tuesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal bicycle accident happened in the area of Second Street and E Street at about 8 a.m. December 10.

The authorities said a 27-year-old man was riding a bicycle across the railroad when he was hit by an Amtrak train.

The unidentified Oakdale man was killed in the accident.

No other information was provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
